“My nerves held me captive for several hours, during which I drifted in and out of a restless sleep. Only hunger, gnawing and insistent, could finally drag my thoughts back into focus. With trembling hands, I reignited my torch and resumed my exploration of this cursed hall—still stark naked, vulnerable to both the elements and the unknown.
Behind the towering columns, I discovered what appeared to be a stone wardrobe. Inside, I found several pieces of fabric that seemed to be ceremonial robes, light and flowing. Hastily, I selected one and fashioned it into a makeshift garment, wrapping myself against the oppressive cold of the subterranean air.
To my right, another massive archway loomed, eerily similar to the one I had passed through earlier. Beyond it, I could see a grand staircase winding upward, its steps surprisingly intact. Could this be my chance to finally escape these forsaken depths?
With my heart weighed down by equal parts hope and trepidation, I whispered a silent prayer: ‘May the gods guide my steps.’ Clutching the torch tightly, I prepared to ascend, my mind bracing for what lay ahead.”
