Year 1237 of the Current Era:
The Darkspawn Elves inhabit the cold, mountainous forests of southern Akal. Their capital city lies at the base of the region’s sole mountain, above which they have erected a grand temple to Onduni.
Once, they were part of the Drow, elves who worshiped the moon and stars. However, some among them fell under the influence of Onduni, transforming into a new, cursed race. This corruption stripped them of their immortality, leading to their exile from the lands of the High Elves.
Forced to breed like mortals, the Darkspawn Elves settled in harsh, frozen lands, abandoned to their fate. Despite these struggles, their sorcerer-emperor, Zelrekh Kastruh, forged them into a conquering force. His rise to power remains shrouded in mystery, but under his rule, the Darkspawn have become a relentless and unified army, existing only to serve Onduni’s will and their tyrant’s insatiable ambitions.
